The Great Scientist and inventor of two radioactive substances Radium and Polonium Marie Curie was born on 7 November 1867. She is my favourite Scientist. Marie Curie holds the world record to be the first woman to win Nobel Price twice. She won one Nobel price for physics , and other for chemistry. She was born to teacher parents in Poland. She was a very bright student as a child. When she grew up she was so engrossed in studying that she forgot to eat and often fainted from hunger. She got married to Pierre Curie. They both became scientists and became the founders of Radium. They both won Nobel Price for that invention , but soon after that when Pierre Curie was returning with some lab substances he slipped down and a horse-driven carriage passed from above him. That was his last breath. Marie Curie wept but went on further to discover Polonium. She won the second Nobel Price for this. Marie Curie was not aware of the dangerous radioactive substances found in Radium and Polonium. She used to carry them in her coat packets and died due to that. It is believed that still her body is radioactive and can not be touched without wearing gloves. This great personality died on 4 July 1934.
