The Adventures Of Robinson Crusoe

Author : SWARNIMA RAI Have you read the wonderful book The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe??The marvellous book Robinson Crusoe was written by Daniel Defoe. The book Robinson Crusoe tells the real adventures of a scotish sailor Alexander Selkirk who lived on an unhabited island in Chile for four years and was rescued by an English Ship. In this story there is a man named Robinson Crusoe who was a merchant and once while sailing to a country , he came across a storm which chased him to an unhabited island in Chile. There Robinson was all alone but found a ship which contained guns and gunpowder. The next day, ship was no longer on the shore. Robinson Crusoe lived on the island and learned to make oven , pot , clothes , cakes , pastries , etc. He learned to grow crops , hunt and dry raisins also. He was very happy with his skills. Once Robinson Crusoe was wandering over his island but discovered a man's foot. Soon , he found out that savages paid a regular visit to his island. He was frightened but he rescued one of the prisoner bought by the savages and made the prisoner his companion. He taught the prisoner English , the skills which he knew and named the prisoner Friday. One day , the saw an English Ship coming towards the island. They were happy and frightened both. It would be a problem if they fell into hands of murderers for they knew that the English did not trade with this part of the world and there had been no storms yet. Their fears came true as the men were murderers and had captured the captain and his two loyal men. Robinson and Friday spoke to the men and with their help they were rescued from the island. That was the last of Crusoe's adventures as after that adventure he did not wish to travel by sea.

Thank you!
