Interesting Facts About Planet.
Aarya
Hello friends, today let's talk about some interesting facts about planets! let's get started.
Do you know how long the days and nights are in Mercury? 58 days 15 hour 30 minutes! did you know that?
neither Mercury nor Venus have moons.
Because Mercury is too close to the Sun and its gravity, it wouldn't be able to hold on to its own moon.
Any moon would most likely crash into Mercury or maybe go in to orbit around the Sun and eventually, get pulled in to it.
Now, did you know that?
Venus and earth are often called twins because they are similar in size, mass, density, composition and gravity.
Venus is actually only a little bit smaller than our home planet, with a mass about 80% of Earth's.
I will tell you 2 things about Mars: It is also called the red planet and there is ice and maybe snow on mars! I know! but now I believe it, because red does not always mean hot, sometimes it can be cold, or medium temperature, and Mars seems to be one of them. The red color appears because it is covered in dust, rust and red colored rocks.
Jupiter has exactly 63 moons in total, there might be more but we don't know about them yet. The main moons of Jupiter are Europa, Ganymede, Io, Calisto etc.
Now I will tell you about Saturn's rings. They are thought to be pieces of comets, asteroids or shattered moons that broke up before they reached the planet, torn apart by Saturn's powerful gravity. They are made of billions of small chunks of ice and rock coated with another material such as dust.
Now, I want to tell you something interesting about Uranus, you already must know it spins backward and on its side, but did you know it kind of smells like rotten eggs! but that is just the hydrogen sulfide. Also, it was the first planet found with a telescope.
Now, the furthest planet from the Sun, Neptune! It's super sonic winds are faster than sound! over 700 mph! which is about 1.5 faster than sound! cool, right? weren't all these facts cool?
That is all for today, see you on my next blog!
bye!
